Akron/Family
Free and inspired, the music of this Brooklyn-based band is characterized by its
great variety. Akron/Family's polymorphic albums, released since 2005, contain
compositions ranging from folk and free jazz to percussion, brass, electro,
post-rock and a host of noisy experiments. Released in February 2011, their
fifth album, with the convoluted title Akron/Family II: The Cosmic Birth and
Journey of Shinju TNT, once again pushes the boundaries.
