Alex Band (born on June 8, 1981 in Los Angeles, California) rose to fame as the
lead singer and guitarist of post-grunge heroes The Calling, whose 2001 megahit
"Wherever You Will Go" topped the US Adult Top 40 for 23 weeks. The Calling
released two successful albums before going on hiatus in 2005, with Bland
carving his own solo path in music. Band, whose mother is actress Med Band (neé
Robertson) and father is horror movie director Charles Band, provided the vocals
