Alison Mosshart is one of the 21st century's leading indie-rock frontwomen. Born
on November 23, 1978, and raised in Vero Beach, Florida, she launched her career
as a member of the punk band Discount, serving as the group's critically-lauded
singer from 1995 until 2000. After Discount's breakup, she moved to London and
formed a garage-punk duo, The Kills, with British musician Jamie Hince. The
