French jazz artist, composer, and television personality André Manoukian was
born in Lyon on April 9, 1957. A pianist from the age of 7, he eventually
attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He bounced around France in the
early 1980s and enjoyed his biggest success when he became the professional and
personal partner of singer Liane Foly. He would write and produce many of her
albums including 1988’s The Man I Love, 1993’s Les Petites Notes, and 2004’s La
