The Filipino rapper, actor, and comedian known as Andrew E. was born Andrew Ford
Valentino Espiritu on July 30, 1967, in Naga City. He started off DJing in clubs
and made his official music debut in 1990 with the hit single “Humanap Ka ng
Panget.” As his career took off, he began starring in comedy films based on some
of his songs, such as “Mahirap Maging Pogi” (1992), “Manchichiritchit” (1993),
and “Ang Boyfriend Kong Gamol” (1994). In 1997, he founded the indie rap label
Dongalo Wreckords, whose main aim was to discover new talents in the underground
