Barney Artist

Barney Artist, whose real identity remains unknown, is a British rapper from East London. Drawing inspiration from the jazz-tinged hip hop of A Tribe Called Quest or The Roots, he first popped up in the music scene with his 2012 EP BAEP, followed by his debut mixtape Bespoke in 2014. In the subsequent years, Barney Artist became more and more involved with the burgeoning hip hop scene in London, striking a creative partnership with producers Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei as well as with longtime friend and collaborator Alfa Mist.
