Swedish singer Björn Skifs was born in Vansbro in 1947 and during his long
career as a singer, songwriter and actor has become something of an institution
in his home country. He began his singing career in the 1960s with his band Slam
Creepers before forming Blue Suede in 1972. Blue Suede had a number one hit with
their version of Mark James's 'Hooked On a Feeling' and in doing so became the
first Swedish band to top the Billboard charts.
