Blood Red Shoes
Taking their name from a Ginger Rogers/Fred Astaire musical, Blood Red Shoes
were formed by guitarist Laura-Mary Carter and drummer Steven Ansell in 2004
after discovering a mutual love of grunge, punk and US alternative rock. Rising
from Brighton's vibrant music scene, they established a distinctive musical
style built around spiky, alternative, indie thrashes, fuelled by sugar pop
vocals and songs of adolescent frustrations. After years touring small venues
and releasing singles through independent labels, they signed with Mercury for
