Jazz pianist Bobby Lyle began showing an interest in music at the age of six
when he started learning to play the piano under his mother's tutelage. With
strong influences including Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner and Art Tatum, Lyle
performed his first concert when he was just 16.
Relocating to Los Angeles, he landed a position in the band of Sly & the Family
Stone, also acting as a session musician for Ronnie Laws, George Benson, Esther
Phillips and Phyllis Hyman. At the age of 30 he released his debut album 'Bobby
