Born Jayashri Ramnath in Calcutta, West Bengal, India on November 30, 1962, Bombay Jayashri is a vocalist, musician, and playback singer best known for her Carnatic music recordings, which is a style that originated in South India. She sings in multiple languages including Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil. Born into a musical family, she received Carnatic music training from her parents before studying under Lalgudi Jayaraman and T. R. blamani.
