Caroline Polachek, born on June 20, 1985 in New York City, U.S.A, is an American
singer, producer, and songwriter known for her indie pop sound and unique
musical style. Raised in Connecticut, she co-founded the band Chairlift while
studying at the University of Colorado. The duo emerged from the late-2000s
Brooklyn music scene with the sleeper hit "Bruises," which gained them
