Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, Cheryl Tweedy, as she was then known,
began dancing lessons aged four. She won a number of modelling competitions as a
child, starred in several adverts, and also attended a Royal Ballet Summer
School at the age of nine.
Cheryl's big break came in 2002, when she took part in the TV show 'Popstars:
The Rivals' and won a place in the group Girls Aloud which became a huge success
with 20 top ten UK Singles including four number ones. Cheryl joined the panel
