Formed by singer Chino Moreno (best known as frontman of the metal band Deftones) and Shaun Lopez (best known as guitarist for the post-hardcore act Far), Crosses is a dark wave duo launched in 2011 in Los Angeles, California. The group's debut release, EP 1, was independently released that same year, with Lopez pulling double-duty as Crosses' guitarist and producer. A follow-up EP, EP 2, arrived the next year and reached number 8 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.
