Singer of maloya, the traditional music of Reunion Island, Danyèl Waro is at once a poet, a political activist and a world-renowned musician. He has been touring the world since 1976, but only began recording in 1987. His double album Aou Amwin, released in 2010, encompasses the many facets of this magician of words and sound, who makes his own instruments. In 2013, Danyèl Waro released the live recording Kabar. In 2017, he released the album Monmon.
