The Argentinian bandoneón player Dino Saluzzi was born Timoteo Saluzzi in Campo Santo, Salta Province in 1935. The bandoneón is the distinctive concertina instrument used extensively in tango ensembles and is popular throughout Argentina and Uruguay. Saluzzi began playing in dance bands and orchestras from a young age and after basing himself in Buenos Aires, became renowned as a leading member of the Radio El Mundo orchestra.
