Cuban-American DJ Lazaro Mendez is better known by his stage name DJ Laz. He was
already performing as a DJ in clubs in Florida at the age of 15 and became a
successful DJ for the American radio channel Power 96 in 1990 with his 'DJ Laz
Morning Show'. He hosted the show for 22 years. In 1991, DJ Laz released his
debut self-titled album which included the popular single 'Mami El Negro'. Both
the album and single reached the top 100 in the R&B/Hip-Hop Charts. His second
