American salsa singer Domingo Quiñones was born on August 9, 1963, in Perth
Amboy, New Jersey. At age 4, he moved with his parents to Puerto Rico and spent
a large part of his childhood in the small town of Ceiba, located in the
northeastern part of the island. Upon his return to the US in 1977, he built a
hefty resume fronting the salsa ensembles Conjunto Nativo and Conjunto Clásico,
as well as performing with the orchestras of Rafael de Jesús, José Alberto "El
