Singer and songwriter Edwin McCain was born in Charleston, South Carolina on
January 20, 1970. He is best known for his American Top 40 hits “I’ll Be” (1998)
and “I Could Not Ask for More” (1999). His recording career began in 1991 with
the release of his independent album Nomadic Logic. He released on more
independent album – Solitude (1993) – before signing to Atlantic Records at the
same time that his friends Hootie and the Blowfish signed to the label. His
major label debut, Honor Among Thieves, was released in 1994 and reached Number
