El Jeffrey
José Gabriel Severino (April 1, 1973) is a Dominican merengue artist who
performs under the name El Jeffrey. Born in the city of Santiago de los
Caballeros, he first rose to prominence with the 80s merengue group La
Artillería, which gained nationwide recognition thanks to hit singles like “Soy
Yo” and “Otra Noche.” During the early 90s, El Jeffrey embarked on a highly
successful solo career, beginning with Por Qué Te Siento Aquí (1994) and Jeffrey
