Singer-songwriter Elvis Costello (born Patrick Declan MacManus in London, August
25, 1954) made his debut in 1977, accompanying the emergence of punk(My Aim Is
True, #14 in the UK charts, featuring the song "Alison"). He then formed a
backing band, The Attractions, with whom he recorded the album This Year's
Model, released in 1978 and reaching #4 in the charts. Armed Forces (1979) and
