Floor Jansen, a Dutch singer and songwriter from Goirie, in the southern Netherlands, was born on 21 February 1981 and rose to fame as the frontwoman for Finnish symphonic metal leaders Nightwish, who she joined in 2012. She cut her teeth aged 16 as a member of Apocalypse, renamed After Forever in 1997, and released five albums with the group until forming new outfit ReVamp in 2009. After releasing two albums with ReVamp, she replaced previous Nightwish singer Anette Olzon as the group's lead vocalist and saw her profile reach new heights.
