Post-punk band Fontaines D.C. were formed in Dublin, Ireland in 2017 by five
students from the city's British and Irish Modern Music Institute. Lead singer
Grian Chatten, guitarists Carlos O’ Connell and Conor Curley, bassist Conor
Deegan III, and drummer Tom Coll were drawn together by a love of poetry. The
group’s appreciation of the written word has been noticed by music critics, many
of whom have commented on the lyrical depth of their songs and how it sits
