Founder with Eddie Piller of the Acid Jazz Records label, Gilles Peterson became
one of the pillars of the acid jazz movement when he founded Talkin'Loud in
1989. In this capacity, he produced major artists of the genre, including The
Young Disciples, Reprazent, 4hero, Incognito, Terry Callier and Galliano. Gilles
Peterson became a radio host for Radio 1 in 1998, and was dubbed the "new John
Peel". His current activities range from radio to organizing festivals and
producing thematic compilations.
