Blending college rock sensibilities with plenty of jangly power pop energy, Gin Blossoms made their way to the top of the charts with their 1992 blockbuster New Miserable Experience. Formed in Tempe, Arizona in 1987 by main songwriter Doug Hopkins, the band went through several lineup changes before settling on their classic formation - Robin Wilson on vocals, Bill Leen on bass, Jesse Valenzuela on rhythm guitar, Phillip Rhodes on drums, and Hopkins on lead guitar.
