Grèn Sémé began in 2006 in Montpellier (France), when a group of Reunionese students gathered around singer-percussionist Carlo De Sacco with the ambition of forming a group that would invent a song infused with Reunionese Creole and maloya. Halfway between dub and rock, a debut album by the name of Grèn Sémé was released in 2013.
