Regional Mexican ensemble Grupo Firme came together in 2014 in Tijuana, Baja
California. Founded by singer Eduin Cazares and accordionist Jairo Corrales, the
band started out performing Norteño music but eventually began incorporating
elements from the brass-heavy banda genre in later releases. Even though their
studio debut, 2017's Pasado, Presente, Futuro failed to make a splash in the
local music scene, it did help set the stage for subsequent albums like El Barco
and En Vivo Desde Tijuana: los Buitrones y los Firmes, both released later that
