Composer, arranger, conductor and musicologist Guy Protheroe (b. Worcester,
1947) studied composition at Oxford University and then at London's Guildhall
School, where he formed the contemporary music ensemble Spectrum with Ann Manly.
At the composer's request, he became director of the Xenakis Ensemble and
collaborated with John Cage, before diversifying his activities with a series of
collaborations with Vangelis, Rick Wakeman and Frenchman Eric Lévi, for his new
