Hermanos Yaipen
Hermanos Yaipén, aka Hnos. Yaipén, are a Peruvian orchestra formed by brothers
Walter and Javier Yaipén in 2000. The ever-changing line-up has seen more than
200 artists pass through its ranks, specialising in a form of Cumbia music,
called Chicha in Peru, that originated in Colombia and fuses indigenous, African
and European rhythms and forms.
Hnos. Yaipén, in its changing forms, does not have a huge back catalogue of
work, with only six albums and two compilation albums. However, in 2019 the band
