HiM is an experimental rock band whose percussionist Doug Scharin, influenced by
dub and afro beat, is the only permanent member, which ultimately makes it his
personal project. Affiliated with the Chicago post-rock scene in the second half
of the 1990s, HiM achieved worldwide recognition between 2000 and 2004, with
three successive albums Our Point of Departure, New Features and Many In High
Places Are Not Well.
