Ja'net DuBois was born and raised in the state of New York. With a penchant for
acting, she made her stage debut in 1960 in 'The Long Dream'. She continued to
perform in on and off-Broadway productions throughout the '60s, before landing
her breakthrough role in the musical 'Golden Boy' starring alongside Sammy Davis
Jr. and Billy Daniels.
Her first film role came in 1966 as Martha in 'A Man Called Adam'. Her first
television role was in 1970 in 'Love of Life' before the role of Willona Woods
