Born Janice Reddick on May 22, 1981 in St. Louis, Missouri, Janice Gaines is a
Stellar and GMA Dove Award-nominated gospel singer/songwriter. The daughter of a
Methodist minister and gospel musician mother, Gaines grew up singing in church
and, when she was a teenager, became the youngest member of O’Landa Draper & The
Associates, a Memphis-based community choir. While attending college, she
provided background vocals for soul/R&B vocalist Howard Hewett (ex-Shalamar).
