Daughter of singer Maarit and rock guitarist Sami Hurmerinta, Janna Hurmerinta
was born in Helsinki on December 20, 1981. She studied piano from the age of
six, and wrote her first songs as a teenager, alongside conservatory studies and
singing lessons. Her career kicked off in 2007 with the album Right Now, an
all-English album with jazz and soul influences and a certain impact in Asia,
