Jay Steven Kapossy, known as Jay Chang, is an American singer based in South
Korea, born on March 8, 2001, in New Jersey to a diverse family with
Filipino-Chinese and Irish-Hungarian roots. His early exposure to the music
industry through his father, a musician, inspired him to pursue a career in
music. He first encountered K-pop as a teenager and moved to South Korea after
being scouted by MBC in 2018 to participate in the reality show Under Nineteen,
though he was eliminated early. Chang made his solo debut with the single "Is
