José Martínez is a Puerto Rican reggaeton artist best known by his stage name
Jay Wheeler. He was born in the town of Salinas in 1994 and raised in humble
circumstances by his mother and grandmother and grew up never knowing his
father. During his school years Martinez was bullied by his peer group and began
to look to music as a way of escape. He learnt to play the piano and during his
teen years began to upload freestyles onto social media and slowly began to
build a fan base for his material.
