Originally from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jey Brownie grew
up in a musical environment with a musician father, Koffi Olomidé's guitarist
Fofo Tati Vangu, known as Fofo le Collégien. He began singing in the church
choir at the age of eleven, before taking up rap. Influenced by Congolese rumba,
American pop, R&B and rap, and encouraged by his father who accompanies him, Jey
Brownie releases his first tracks in 2019 and continues during the Covid-19
