Born in Dundee, Scotland on June 26, 1930, Jimmy Deuchar was a bebop/jazz trumpeter and big band arranger who was most active in the 1950s and 1960s. After serving his time in the National Service at Padgate, Warrington, he joined British modern jazz outfit the Johnny Dankworth Seven. He also played in other high profile outfits including the Oscar Rabin Band and Ronnie Scott in the 1950s. He released the album Jimmy Deuchar, his first album as a leader, in 1953.
