Julien Baker
Originally from Tennessee, Julien Baker is an American author, composer and
musician, born in Germantown on September 29, 1995. She grew up in Bartlett, a
suburb of Memphis, where her love of alternative rock led to a career as a
musician. Inspired by the hardcore punk movement, in 2010 she formed the
high-school band The Star Killers, renamed Forrister in 2015, then recorded her
critically acclaimed folk/slowcore debut Sprained Ankle the same year, which led
