Uruguayan tango singer Julio Sosa was born Julio María Sosa Venturini on
February 2, 1926, in Las Piedras, Uruguay. After cutting his teeth with Carlos
Gilardoni's orchestra in La Paz, he relocated to Montevideo and began
collaborating with the likes of Hugo Di Carlo, Epifanio Chaín, Edelmiro
D'Amario, and Luis Caruso. His career took off after moving to Buenos Aires,
where he rose to prominence as the vocalist for the Francini-Pontier orchestra,
cutting several singles for the RCA Victor label between 1949 and 1953,
