Kalpana Patowary is an Indian playback and folk singer from Sorbhog, Assam. Even
though she is best known for her extensive contributions to Bhojpuri cinema, she
can sing in 30 languages and has also been featured in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi,
and Bengalese films. Born into a musical family, she was exposed to Bhojpuri
folk music from a very early age and began performing with her father at the age
of 4. In 1999, she made her official debut as a playback singer on the
Tamil-language romantic drama Taj Mahal, lending her voice to the A. R.
