Les Compagnons de la Chanson were a French vocal group formed in 1943 who sang
for the French army during the Second World War. The group found success in 1946
after meeting Édith Piaf and recording the song 'Les Trois Cloches'. They joined
her on a tour of the United States before returning home to enjoy success in
France, releasing hundreds of albums over the course of their lengthy career.
They continued to tour for the next four decades, performing their last concert
as sexagenarians in 1985.
