Born in Harbin, Heilongjiang on 23 September 1974, Chinese singer Li Jian rose
to fame in the 1990s as one half of the duo Shui Mu Nian Hua before breaking off
to launch his solo career in 2002. His debut album Si Shui Liu Nian arrived in
2003 and he spent the 2000s and 2010s perfecting his sound across a wealth of
other releases from 2005's Wei Ni Er Lai and 2006's Thinking of You to 2009's
Music Mavericks. In 2010, his profile was given a boost thanks to Chinese star
Faye Wong who performed Li Jian's song "Chuan Qi" (Legend) on CCTV's Spring
