Not to be confused with Mexican singer-songwriter Lucero, the Memphis-based
alternative country and rock band Lucero (Spanish for "bright star") have earned
a reputation as one of the hardest working musical outfits in America with
constant touring and a series of well-received recordings. Legends in their home
town, they formed in the Tennessee city in 1998 by singer and guitarist Ben
Nichols, drummer Roy Berry, bassist John C. Stubblefield and guitarist Brian
Venable. Keyboard player Rick Steff joined in 2006 and they have featured
several other musicians over the last 20 years...
