Welsh band Manic Street Preachers, founded in 1986, made a name for themselves
with their blend of punk and alternative rock, before moving into a more pop
period over the years and albums. Following Generation Terrorists (#13 in the UK
in 1992), the band released two highly influential albums, The Holy Bible (#6 in
1994) and Everything Must Go (#2 in 1996). The sudden death of guitarist Richey
Edwards in February 1995, who would be officially declared dead in 2008, split
