Coupé-décalé singer, choreographer and DJ Impy Manianga, aka DJ Maréchal, was
born on November 7, 1978 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He made his
musical debut in Congo with the group Les Katerpillars before migrating to Côte
D'Ivoire, where he became a choreographer for Pierrette Adam's. He found his
audience when he joined the Ivorian DJ movement, making people dance in bars to
the sound of coupé-décalé, alongside Dj Arafat. In 2007, the man who used to
call himself Chirac imposed his dance style with his biggest hit, "Seka seka".
