Marion Meadows is a saxophone player and composer who has released more than a
dozen jazz albums and performed as a side man with many top artists since the
1980s. Born in West Virginia, he spent his youth in Stamford, Connecticut, where
he studied classical music until he discovered jazz recordings by stars such as
John Coltrane, Sonny Stitt and Coleman Hawkins. After studying at the Berklee
College of Music, he began to write songs of his own, and when Norman Connors
recorded one of his pieces, he joined the drummer's band.
