MC Marcinho is the stage name of Márcio André Nepomuceno Garcia, a Brazilian
singer often credited with pioneering the funk melodia genre. Born on 11
November 1977 in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, he grew up under the influence
of his cabinet maker father's samba renditions. By age 6, he had already
