Mighty Sparrow is the undisputed king of calypso and soca. Born on the island of
Grenada and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Mighty Sparrow began his career in
the 1950s and quickly ascended to the throne of calypso monarch in 1956 with his
track " Jean and Dinah". Mighty Sparrow became a worldwide ambassador for
Caribbean rhythms. He was also a major influence on Jamaican ska, being directly
