Milad Nejad was just a baby when he and his parents fled Tehran to escape the
Iran-Iraq War. They travelled to Hamburg-Bergedorf to find shelter with an
uncle, and it was there that he grew up. Nejad had a difficult childhood and in
his early teens began drinking, smoking and sneaking into clubs; at the age of
14 he was arrested for the first time after a break-in. He was released, but
after later getting caught with cocaine he spent four years behind bars.
