Launched in 1996 by the members of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Mo Thugs Family is a Cleveland-based hip-hop collective featuring various acts signed to Mo Thugs Records. The group's platinum-selling debut, Family Scriptures, was released in November 1996, four months after Bone Thugs-n-Harmony topped the Billboard Hot 100 with "Tha Crossroads." Despite Family Scriptures' success as an album, Mo Thugs Family didn't produce a hit single until 1998's Family Reunion, which included the chart-topping rap hit "Ghetto Cowboy."
