Five times nominated for a BAFTA Award in the Best Original Television Music
category, Portsmouth-born Murray Gold has become almost ubiquitous as a composer
within the British television industry. He is perhaps best known for his work as
the sole composer for the TV series 'Doctor Who'. The series was relaunched in
2005 and Gold was commissioned to write the music and even made a cameo
appearance in the 2007 Christmas special episode. His work on Doctor Who
frequently references the original music but is enriched with heavy orchestral
